Höganäs replaces H.C. Stark brand

As of 1st June, HöganäsGroup of Sweden and H.C. Starck Surface Technology & Ceramic Powders (STC) act under the same brand and name on the market: Höganäs.

“Together we are a leading provider for all surface and joining technologies, including thermal spraying, hard facing, brazing and welding. As one Höganäs organisation, we utilise our joint forces to invent better solutions for our customers’ current needs and future challenges,” says Hans Keller, president Product Area Surface & Joining Technologies at Höganäs.

It was in March 2018 that Höganäs acquired the STC division from H.C. Starck and its two production units located in Goslar and Laufenburg, Germany. The name change marks the final milestone on the integration journey for the two companies into one.

“Now that we are truly one company, Höganäs is one of the largest players in the premium segment of the surface coating market, servicing a broad range of industries, but focussing on automotive, oil and gas, mining and construction, energy and aviation,” says Hans Keller.

Höganäs aims to make surface coating into a new and strong business leg, next to metal powder for pressed and sintered components. The company’s more than 200 yearlong legacy of innovation ensures a high product and application development pace, as well as outstanding quality and service.

“Together, we can and will make a difference for our customers. Höganäs operates in 18 countries around the globe, meaning that our sales and technical service co-workers are always close to our customers and understand their local and specific needs. We also offer development and testing services in Sweden, Germany, USA, Brazil and China.”

Höganäs is the world leader on the market for metal powders with a yearly capacity of 500,000 tons. In close cooperation with customers, Höganäs develops tomorrow’s solutions for automotive components, electrical motors, brazing, surface coating, additive manufacturing and sustainable water treatment. Höganäs operates 18 production centres across the globe and has a workforce of 2,500 employees. The turnover for 2018 was 10,360 MSEK. Höganäs, which was founded in 1797, is owned by Lindéngruppen and Wallenberg owned FAM.
